Lawless is here!

Image
Over the last few weeks I've mentioned Janeen Ippolito's newest release, Lawless. I'm excited to announce that it's here! Check out the blurb: The salvation of humans and dragons lies within a convicted murderer. Dragonshifter Kesia Ironfire has one goal—to redeem her past by serving the cruel dragon Pinnacle as a soldier in the dragon-human war. Then a rogue mission to spy on a new airship explodes into sickening green smoke. The same mysterious green smoke that was present the night of Kesia’s crime. When her dragon overlords deny any involvement, she and her tactical partner Zephryn Nightstalker try to investigate--and are sentenced to death. Still searching for answers, Kesia and Zephryn flee to the human military capital, where Captain Shance Windkeeper has been furloughed after the destruction of his airship. Eager to discover what--and who--blew up his vessel, he agrees to help Kesia and Zephryn infiltrate High Command. In exchange, Kesia must

Lawless Blog Tour: An off-the-wall Interview!

Greetings and salutations! When last here I regaled you with a bit about Janeen Ippolito's upcoming release, Lawless, and showed you the cover. This time around I have an equally amazing treat! Three of the characters in this awesome steampunk tale stopped by to answer a few questions. Kesia and Zephryn, dragonshifters that they are, were a bit jumpy in the confines of my vault. Even Shance was a bit uncomfortable, despite his career as a soldier. Once they settled in I laid into them with some random questions. Take a look! What would you do if a bird pooped on you? Shance: Is it Kesia? *Kesia laughs. Zephryn rolls his eyes* Zephryn: Kesia can’t stay in one animal form that long. Shance: I just wanted to be sure. Kesia: Very thoughtful! Shance: Thanks. I’d still just clean it off and move on with my life. Zephryn: The bird would be dead by flames. Kesia: Yeah, you would. I probably would do the same. Shance: Aw, real

It's time for another cover reveal! This time I was welcomed into the vaults of Uncommon Universe Press by the phenomenal Janeen Ippolito. She asked me to tell you a little bit about her latest release, Lawless , and I readily agreed. Without further adieu... The salvation of humans and dragons lies within a convicted murderer. The Narrows

I stand at a waypoint many miles beyond where I entered the cleft in the rocks. The yellow-green of old bruises mingles with the purple of new across my arms and shoulders. Mementos of my last encounter with those who dance on the cliff high above me. This stretch of the passage is especially tricky, smooth granite stones laying loose atop jagged shards of obsidian. I am exhausted. These past miles have turned my strength to naught but frayed threads. Ahead I see the sun. Might it be a place where the cliffs loom not over me, but let light stream down? This is my hope. It's been long since I've dared to allow myself rest. Mayhaps there will be others who travel this path I can stretch out beside! I think again of the many knotted ropes along the way and blink back. Those above cavort along paths worn smooth by myriad feet. But they ignore the black wind coming, ignoring the safety found below. For though the mountains menace and the thorny underbrush tears at me, I am protect

Explore Leira Blog Tour: R is for Renegade!

My wandering through worlds of others' devising recently took me to the world of Leira, where I had the pleasure of talking with creator Gillian Bronte Adams. She regaled me with tales of a frightful hound, Renegade, and asked me to spread them as part of her Alphabet Blog Tour. Without further ado... R is for Renegade Recently, I have been suffering BIG TIME from puppy fever. I consider myself both a dog and cat person. After growing up around both, and having many canine and feline “friends,” I would be hard pressed to choose between the two. At this point, I have a cat—Finn—but am not able to keep a dog for a variety of reasons. Still, that doesn’t stop me from shamelessly borrowing my friends’ dogs or drooling over pictures of adorable puppies. (Please tell me I’m not the only one!) Dogs do make the best companions … although, so far, the dogs that have appeared in the Songkeeper Chronicles have been less than friendly. Throughout Leira, there are certain cre
